Duxbury Road was a quiet road to walk on and we could see the Winooski River on the right.

Since we were mostly too far apart to talk while walking we developed non-verbal ways of communicating. Pauline would indicate how many miles we had gone. I would make a sound to have her turn around, so I could let her know it was time to have a sip of water. (added Dec.31, 2014_for those of you re-reading this blog!)
Saw quite a bit of Japanese Knotweed in bloom. Where Dean and I walk in Hamilton to see it, by the time we get to see it, it is twilight and we don't get a chance to admire the light on the multitude of tiny blossoms. (added Dec. 31/14)
Dean asked us to keep our eyes open for dead birch trees. Pauline remembered and collected some birch park so that we could easily light a campfire back at New Discovery State Park.
